Meet the Artist
Hi there! My name is Kendyll Hallmark, and I am an 18-year-old artist based in Summerville, South Carolina. I am a Freshman at Clemson University, majoring in Biology and planning to pursue a career in medicine to study disease and make a lasting positive impact on my community. I recently started an EMT course and am excited to get a firsthand experience in healthcare.
I love STEM, but have always had a passion for art. I've been painting for a long time, but recently decided I wanted to sell and display my work after receiving a lot of positive feedback on some of my latest pieces. I am the oldest of 3 raised by a single mom who has always encouraged me to pursue my passions. I love baking and cooking, and I have a severely autistic and nonverbal younger sister. I began drawing in part because she enjoys watching me draw, and would always hand me a crayon or marker to draw something for her.
I not only love painting and the creative outlet it provides, but I would say my biggest inspiration for my artwork is the happiness I can bring to people by creating pieces that speak to a vision, life experience, or memory. I love that I move people with my work, and positive feedback is one of my biggest motivators. I dream of starting an online business or opening up a gallery to display and sell my artwork and some favorite pieces from talented friends, and I want to pursue formal art training to improve my craft.
